Welcome June Elizabeth Westmoreland

We were scheduled to be induced on March 24, 2009 at 6:00am. Of course we got to the hospital a little late-6:20. After filling out a few papers, I changed into a hospital gown and they tried to put in the IV. The first try was not to successful--they pulled it out and I felt very faint, sweaty, and was starting to black out. They then moved to my other arm and started sticking me trying to get it into my other hand. The baby's heart rate dropped very low and people started running in and out of the room. They started me on oxygen. The next thing I knew--They were wheeling me back for an emergency C-section. Everything moved so quickly--I didn't have time to process anything. June was born at 7:59am. She had a little fluid on her lungs, but God blessed us with a special nurse who focused only on June for over an hour and she did not have to go into the NICU. We excepted to be in labor all day, but God had different plans. June weighed 8 pounds and 5 ounces. She was 20 and a half inches long.

I didn't dare ask to hold her Tuesday, but I do expect to get plenty of holding time, too!!!!

She is SUCH a beauty. K and EG can't WAIT to see her and they are both upset that they have to wait a little while! :) Get some rest, and remember, I'm really good at rocking little babies, too!
